Break-Free Bore Cleaner - An all-purpose
nitro-powder solvent that removes firing residue and contaminants.
- A clean bore, free from metal fouling, is critical to shooting accuracy.
However, there is another reason why a good barrel loses its ability to
shoot accurately. The bore surface has been degraded either from erosion or
corrosion. Many shooters in an effort to clean a bore from metal fouling
actually etch the bore by using metal aggressive chemicals or allow
corrosion from the use of water based cleaners.
- The harsher ammonia based bore cleaners that dissolve metal can't
distinguish between good steel and unwanted copper and/or lead. However,
once the integrity of the steel has been compromised, the bore will foul
more quickly and rust faster, as well as losing its accuracy.
- Break-Free Bore Cleaner cleans firing residue by optimum solvent
penetration without using aggressive alkaline chemicals that can dissolve
metal, abrasive materials that can erode the bore, or water based cleaners
that can cause rust.
- Break-Free bore Cleaner is a moderately aggressive solvent formulation
designed to dissolve powder and gas residues and loosen metal fouling
without degrading the bore's finely machined surface. The actual removal of
metal fouling is left to the light scrubbing action of soft wire or nylon
bore brushes followed by a cloth patch.
- The more conservative approach taken by Break-Free Bore Cleaner may not be
the fastest, easiest way to remove bore fouling, but it is the right way.
